A barrel of John Jameson’s legendary Irish whiskey has gone missing and a friend of yours has been implicated in the crime. Your job is to explore 1780 Dublin, collect clues, accept challenges from the townsfolk and solve the quandary.
Jameson Whiskey fans are a loyal and passionate group of people. It is important that every story the brand tells lives up to its esteemed and well-respected heritage. The legend of John Jameson has been kept alive for years in award-winning television advertising. But how does one take the Jameson story to the Web? Furthermore, how does Jameson allow fans to participate in the legend?
In the fall of 2011, EVB worked with jameson to allow fans to do get very close to the brand and actually take part in a John Jameson legend. On Jameson1780.com, users are invited to log into the site with their Facebook credentials take part in a personalized social game. The site uses the same high-production values and quality story-telling that the audience has grown accustom to in the brand’s marketing.
In addition to the social game, the website also allows fans, by way of a 1780 Dublin map, to explore additional John Jameson legends through print and television work.
